RRB NTPC Exam 2019-20 : Check Admit Card, Exam Pattern & Selection process

Railway Recuirment boards (RRBs) have announced RRB NTPC Exam 2020 notification under Centralised Employment notice no. CEN 01/2019. The exam is conducted to select candidates for Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) graduate and undergraduate posts.

RRB NTPC 2020 exam is likely to be conducted from March 28 to April 30, 2020. RRB NTPC admit card will be released from March 24. A total of 1.26 crore applications have been received for more than 35,000 RRB NTPC vacancies.

RRB NTPC 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of RRB NTPC is given below in terms of age and educational qualification.

For 7th CPC Level 2 and 3 undergraduate level posts, candidates should be between 18 to 30 years as on July 1, 2019.

RRB NTPC Important Dates 2020

  • Notification PDF – February 28, 2019
  • Application form  – March 1, 2019

  • Admit card CBT 1 – March 24, 2020 onwards ( four days before the exam)

RRB NTPC 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

  • Electronic gadgets like mobile phones, blue tooth, pen drive, laptops, calculators, wristwatches, etc are not permitted inside the exam centre.
  • Pen, pencil, wallet/purses, belts, shoes, and ornaments, etc. are also not allowed inside the exam hall.
  • Candidates must bring RRB NTPC admit card 2019 while appearing for the exam
  • They need to carry photo-identity proof like Voter Card, Aadhaar Card, printout of e-Aadhaar (not Xerox copy of Aadhaar), Driving License, PAN card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the employer, College / University Photo ID card
  • Candidates must also bring one color photograph
  • Candidates must reach the exam centre an hour early before the commencement of exam

Selection Process of RRB NTPC

The selection process of RRB NTPC is explained below :-

  • Filling the application form
  • 1st  stage CBT
  • 2nd stage CBT
  • Skill Test
  • Document Verification

Filling the application form

To appear for RRB NTPC exam, candidates need to first fill the application form online. The application fees for general/OBC categories is Rs 500 while it is Rs 250 for SC/ST/PWD/Women/Ex-Servicemen/ Transgender/ Minorities/Economically Backward class.

1st stage CBT

The first stage CBT is common for all posts. The duration of the test is 90 minutes and comprises three sections – General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning. The 1st  Stage CBT is for screening. The marks of the 1st stage will be normalised to select candidates for the 2nd stage CBT.

2nd stage CBT

Shortlisting for 2nd stage CBT is done 20 times the number of vacancies based on the merit of 1st stage. The 2nd stage CBT comprises three sections – General Questions Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence and Reasoning. Duration of the test is 90 minutes. Candidates qualifying the 2nd stage CBT are called for skill test depending on the posts they have applied for.

Skill Test

Computer Based Aptitude Test is conducted for Station Master and Traffic Assistant while Typing Skill Test is held for Junior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist and Senior Time Keeper). The short listing for Skill Tests such as Computer based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test is done 8 times the number of vacancies based on the merit of 2nd stage CBT.

Document Verification

Candidates qualifying the 2nd stage CBT and based on the performance in Computer Based Aptitude Test and Typing Skill Test (as applicable) candidates equal to the number of vacancies are called for Document Verification as per their merit. Appointment of selected candidates is subjected to their passing requisite Medical Fitness Test.

Conclusion

There are some thing 1.5 crore candidate applied for RRB NTPC exam so there will be a lot of competition in this exam. But  It is not tough to crack if you have prepared well.
