2 toolsAbout Times Darpan Tools
Times Darpan Tools is a free collection of file converters and everyday utilities for students, professionals and small businesses. Where most online converters send your document to a remote server, these tools run entirely on your own device using modern browser APIs. Your file is opened, processed and downloaded without ever being uploaded — which matters a great deal when the document is an ID, a bank statement, a contract or a medical report.
What you can do here
- Turn photos into a single PDF for applications and submissions
- Shrink a PDF that is too large for an upload limit
- Merge separate PDFs into one file, or split one apart
- Pull tables out of a scanned PDF into a working spreadsheet
- Remove a photo background for a profile picture or product listing
- Reduce image size from MB to KB for forms with strict size caps
Built for Indian users too
The OCR tools recognise both English and Hindi, which most international converters do not handle well. That makes them useful for scanned government forms, Hindi-language documents and mixed-script paperwork. For context and explainers on business, money and technology, visit Times Darpan — our coverage of personal finance, business and AI sits alongside these tools.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. Every tool on this page is free to use with no sign-up, no trial period and no watermark on the output. The site is supported by advertising.
Do my files get uploaded to your server?
No. Conversion happens inside your browser using JavaScript and Web APIs. The file is read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device. Nothing is transmitted to us, which is why the tools also work on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
Is there a file size limit?
There is no limit set by us, but because processing runs on your own device, very large files depend on how much memory your phone or computer has. If a big file struggles, try splitting it first or using a desktop browser.
Which languages does the OCR support?
The OCR tools support English and Hindi. Accuracy is best with a sharp, well-lit, straight-on scan; blurry or angled photos will produce more errors.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Yes, every tool is responsive and works in mobile browsers. Very large PDFs may be slower on older phones, since all the work happens on the device itself.
Do you keep a copy of anything I convert?
No. We never receive the file in the first place, so there is nothing on our side to store, log or delete.
